Information on the area:Penticton is a four season destination. Popular for its beaches and casual atmosphere in summer, it has increasingly become a destination for spring fall and winter getaways. Internationally, the Penticton area wineries and vineyards have attracted considerable notice, particularly the dozen or so Naramata Bench wineries just outside of Penticton. This has led to an increase in the number of notable dining destinations, as well, offering distinctive regional cuisine. The spring and fall wine festivals (May and October) attract oenophiles from around North America and the globe. Golf is another major part of the allure, with 10 golf courses within a short drive and a golf season that usually extends from late February through to late October. The key to all this is the "Mediterranean" climate with mild winters and hot summers, and its stunning geography and environment - located between two crystal-clear lakes and nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains.
